Investigation 14th January 2005 Ball Inn Sheffield full
investigation. Investigation team Mick, Mike, Brenda,
Gaz, Richard, Cheryl, Katy, David, Pen, Gaz(Ivan) and Joe.
When we first entered the property myself and Gaz went around
the property taking temperatures and Emf readings (Base line tests)
We decided to spit up into two groups Group one being Mick, Brenda,
Pen , Joe , Gaz (Ivan), Eileen, Richard (landlord) and his wife
Amy. Group two being Richard, Cheryl, Gaz, Katy, David, and Mike
Trigger objects were setup on each floor and a EVP setup in the
bar area.
Team one was to go down stairs in the cellar and team two was
to take the upstairs.
Around 12am Team 1 in the cellar first part of the night was
sat in a vigil. On investigation of the film footage various orbs
were found to be seen. I informed the Landlord and his wife about
what we were going to be doing and what equipment we used. During
the vigil the beer pumps started which spooked most of the people.
Brenda picked up on a little girl playing in the cellar the little
girl was from the Victorian era because of the way she was dressed.
During this time the temperature dropped around 4 deg the little
girl was around 6 or 7 years of age. Again the video camera would
go out of focus as if trying to focus on things we cannot see.
She also picked up on a tall man with a leather type apron who
was working with a large metal type shutter device that slided
up and down. Believed to be a fire or furnace. Brenda also picked
up on a young woman with stomach problems (dysentery) named Sybil
aged around 18 or 19 possibly pregnant. Gaz (Ivan told us later
he was getting a strange sensation in his legs). Also a smells
of burning or cooking something possibly burning flesh was witnessed
in the cellar. The little girl is believed to be the daughter
of the man working the cellar, not thought to be wealthy people
as the little girl was wearing old type boots and hand me down
clothes.
2am upstairs
Upstairs a old lady was picked up on with arthritis. We decided
to sit in a circle and pick up on any spirits present. While in
the circle a old lady was picked up with a cancer condition. Brenda
also picked up on another young woman this one being more recent
to todays history. This person was thought to have committed suicide
by hanging her self, thought to be around the 1930's. Richard
could not recall anyone ever being told about this incident but
later research we found this to be correct. The girl had dark
hair not that pretty around 30 year old believe to still pace
around upstairs. Believed to have died on the original staircase.
Brenda also picked up on other entities down stairs. Orbs also
witnessed up stairs.
The last hour of the investigation was conducted by all members
in the back bar room.

(Brenda's Report)
The last vigil in back bar. We all sat quietly waiting for something
to happen. Lily said that she saw a Parrot in a cage on the bar.
Gaz (Ivanhoe)thought he heard a large bird. He, Joe, and a few others
thought they saw some movement towards the end of the bar. Brenda
said that she could see a young woman walking around the bar from
one side to the other. She described this woman as being between
20 and 30 years of age, about 5'2'' to 5'5'' , light - mid brown
hair, pale complexion, not plump but 'well covered', possibly of
Irish descent or with an Irish name, a kind of a bar maid or similar.
Felt she couldn't get her breath, lungs had filled up, and she had
collapsed, passed quickly. Smelt something like cooking fat, burnt
flesh. Felt something to do with a fire but not the building being
on fire. Brenda also picked up on an elderly man stood at the front
bar.

The landlord said that a serving girl
in her 20's had collapsed suddenly one night after the pub closed
and fell into the open fire and died. Her spirit has been sighted
on several occasions and the locals call her 'Aunt Sally'.
We concluded that although there is a lot of activity in the pub,
generally there is a very good atmosphere. Any spirits there seem
to be ones that have been happy there or those that have left their
imprint on time. Either way the building is a very safe and good
place to live and work.

Afterwards Richard (the manager) confirmed that the
spirit of an elderly man had been seen at the bar. He also said
that a serving girl in her 20's had collapsed suddenly one night
after the pub closed and fell into the open fire and died. Her spirit
has been sighted on several occasions and the locals call her 'Aunt
Sally'.
We concluded that although there is a lot of activity in the pub,
generally there is a very good atmosphere. Any spirits there seem
to be ones that have been happy there or those that have left their
imprint on time. Either way the building is a very safe and good
place to live and work.
The Base line tests shows no change in conditions in any room
except for temperature drop due to the heating turned off. Nothing
found on the EVP and ony one of the trigger objects moved which
was in the cellar.
(Trigger objects were 2 coins on a piece of paper drawn around
and checked for movement after the investigation).

TEAM 2 REPORT FOR FRIDAY 14TH JANUARY
THE BALL INN, GRIMESTHORPE, SHEFFIELD
TEAM 2( MIKE,GAZ,RICHARD,CHERYL KATIE AND DAVE.)
Team 2 started their investigation at a little after 12 midnight
and proceeded to their investigation areas on the upstairs floor
of the house (above the bar.) Trigger items had been set into
place in the upstairs and downstairs areas prior to the investigation.
The upstairs investigation took place in 3 rooms, the 2 living
rooms (previously 1 room but had a partitioning wall put in.)
and also a smaller room to the rear which had an ironing board
in. Firstly the whole team scouted around the whole area taking
photos, emf readings and some video footage. At this point Mike
remarked to Richard that he was feeling somebody had been hung
although not in the area where they were. After looking around
they broke into 3 smaller groups to cover all 3 rooms. There was
a stronger sense of presence in the larger living room area, although
no uneasy or eerie presence was felt(this does not mean there
was no presence here just that in this case the presence was a
happy and playful one as not all spirit experiences are scary
or unnerving.) Although the whole team did not experience any
great disturbances in the upper area, there was a presence felt
by Mike in the smaller room where the ironing board was. Mike
felt the presence of a small girl with shoulder length dark hair
although this wasn't an uncomfortable experience, Mike felt that
she did not want to be in the room but wanted her presence to
be known. The name of Catherine was given. The team joined together
from the 3 smaller groups to again check all rooms. The whole
team on two occasions experienced interference and beeping on
the walkie talkies they were carrying, (they checked with the
other team who had also experienced problems with their equipment
and had definitely not tried to contact them). At 1-30am team
2 proceeded down stairs to change with team 1 and investigate
the lower cellar areas. From the moment they entered the cellar
areas there was a much stronger sense of presence and again this
was not a uneasy presence. The small room towards the bottom corner
of the cellar containing the boiler was the first place they experienced
activity. Mike felt a coldness around himself in the corner of
the room which was also experienced by Gary. The Emf meter Mike
was carrying was going crazy with activity around him, (it has
to be said that in this room there was strong readings of Emf
in the ceiling and floor of this room due to electrics and piping
but at the time of activity around Mike he was not near any of
the wires or pipes).

Photos of the area were taken which will be studied and results
posted. The next activity was witnessed by Dave and Mike as they
walked through the downstairs corridor leading to the barrel room,
there was a sound of someone behind them and a brushing against
the wall. When the whole team joined up again in the barrel room
they experienced the most activity. They experienced lots of movement
around the entrance and doorway to the barrel room, also various
team members felt a brushing against them, there was a distinctive
sound of breathing heard by all the team members, this sound was
not created by any of the team members. Once more during their
investigation downstairs there was activity on the walkie talkies.
They all experienced an unpleasant smell of either sewerage or
excrement...Mike also experienced a smell of burning meat similar
to burning pork.
